First-year declared advising

We provide academic advising for all first-year students, regardless of major. After freshman year, declared students are assigned to academic advisors within their majors.

Undeclared advising

Our Discovery Advising program offers one-on-one consultations and group workshops to help students choose a major that fits their interests.

Pre-health advising

Our advisors help students navigate admissions requirements for undergraduate programs in health sciences.

Pre-professional health advising

Pre-professional health advising prepares students for professional school application through guidance with curriculum, test preparation and co-curricular activities.

Nondegree student advising

All students who are admitted to VCU as nondegree-seeking students may speak with an advisor in University Academic Advising.
